About

Hello! I’m Ali!

Welcome! I’m so excited you’re here!

If you’re wondering what got me here, it’s guilt…. mom guilt! That dreadful guilt you get when things don’t go the way you think they should. Your time with your kids is limited, the house is a mess, you don’t have time to cook meals, your sleep is fragmented, you’re stressed about work, lack of time with your spouse and failing on self-care. I’m here to tell you, you’re NOT alone!

Motherhood is hard. Us mom’s need to stick together! Let’s stop criticizing each other on how we’re living life and work together to create a happy and healthy life and future for our children and families.

The Mama Behind the Blog

I grew up in a small, rural town in Iowa. My childhood was a bit fragmented dealing with divorced parents. I am a middle child but because my siblings were so far away in age, I often felt like an only child. I attended the University of Iowa College of Nursing for my bachelor of science in nursing.

I got married to the love of my life and high school sweetheart and moved to Washington state to explore and spend sometime outdoors. We spent a few years living on our own, working, and building friendships before moving back to Iowa to start a family.

I’ve worked as a nurse in the pediatric intensive care, pediatric medical/surgical, postpartum, adult medical/surgical and rehabilitation/skilled nursing units before headed back to school to get my master’s. Georgetown University school of Nursing & Health Sciences helped me complete my master’s while in transition between Washington and Iowa. I graduated with my master’s and moved back to my home town, got a full-time job as a nurse practitioner.

Life up until this time seemed easy. Then the happiest decision of our lives was made to have children and start a family. life suddenly got hard as I began the journey of working motherhood!
